Blake Lively has confirmed her role as the mysterious Lady Deadpool in the recently released film, “Deadpool and Wolverine.” Fans initially speculated about her involvement after noticing her outfit at the film’s New York premiere, which closely resembled Lady Deadpool’s costume. Blake ended the speculation by sharing character design sketches and photos from the premiere on Instagram, confirming her role. She captioned the post:
“In 2010 I was on Gossip Girl and about to film my first superhero movie, The Green Lantern with my kind Canadian co-star @vancityreynolds. He told me, our other co-star, another superhero newbie @taikawaititi, and all of us about @deadpoolmovie for the first time.”

Blake added:
“It was a ‘meta’ superhero. Most of us didn’t know what exactly meta meant back then. Except Taika because he’s always been more brilliant than the rest of us mortals. We understood in theory, but how it would come together for an audience was murky, for everyone but him. It wasn’t a real dream. The movie was never gonna happen.”
Continuing her story, Blake said:
“Just before all this in 2010, @robliefeld drew an unmasked Lady Deadpool for the first time. Go to the next slide for his words. @deadpoolmovie wasn’t real. And Rob had no idea I was working with @vancityreynolds. 12 years later I read Rob’s post. A year after that, @deadpoolmovie 3 was filmed. And today it’s in theaters. The universe has such a magical sense of humor sometimes.”
She expressed her gratitude, saying:
“@slevydirect in a league of his own. On and off-screen. There will never be another. His insane body of work speaks for itself. Thank you, buddy, for bringing me along with you in ways big and small. What a ride you’re all in for… @deadpoolmovie IN THEATERS NOW. Xoxo. -LP”
Fans were thrilled to learn that their guess was correct. One person commented, “Once she wore that outfit I was convinced she was Lady Deadpool. It’s no surprise.” Another added, “This has been a long time coming.” Additional comments included, “All the invisible strings!❤️” and “Our forever Lady Deadpool.”
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s “Deadpool and Wolverine” was released in India this Friday amid much anticipation. Directed by Shawn Levy, the film performed well at the box office, grossing nearly Rs 22 crore in India.
Meanwhile, freefire Showsha rated the film 4 out of 5 stars. Their review read:
“Much like Deadpool 2, Deadpool and Wolverine is packed with meta jokes. It’s clear Reynolds took it upon himself to make a memorable entry into the MCU. The film delivers punchlines one after another, leaving you laughing, screaming, and even emotional at times. Reynolds doesn’t keep these standout lines to himself; he shares them with every cast member and cameo, making each character memorable.”
While the film excels in humor and dialogue, the review pointed out some shortcomings:
“While a lot of time was spent developing the dialogues, it feels like the makers spent a little less time on the script. Deadpool and Wolverine also lacks depth in its plot. Although it doesn’t hit in the first half, the issue becomes more apparent in the second half, especially when the focus shifts to Wolverine. Given Wolverine’s history and fans’ emotional investment in the character, the lack of depth becomes noticeable. I wish a bit more time had been spent on his arc.”
